I have brought a new 2GB flash drive and when I start copying files to it,
the drive disappears from My Computer saying "Error Copying File or Folder,
Make sure you specify the correct path or file name".
I returned it for another and the same thing is happening, I know it's not
the computer as I have put the 1GB drive back in and files copy ok.

Unless your USB controller ts toasted - may be this is a power issue.
Is this computer a laptop? USB 2.0 or 1.1?
Have you tried to connect the flash to a powered hub?

Tried it in the desktop and laptop's docking station with the same resaults,
the supplier has told me that the 1GB flash drive needs 250 mA and the 2GB
needs about 350 mA, so plugging it into one of the USB ports on the
motherboard which runs 500 mA should work, I have also installed a USB 2.0
PCI card and tried it in there and that did the same thing
Motherboard is USB2.0 and so is the Flash Drive.

So, now is the turn of the powered hub...

If he's tried it on both a laptop and a desktop plugging into the main usb
connectors and a usb pci card, how is a powered hub gonna make any
difference. Its very unlikely for one person to have two computers with the
same low power problem on the usb ports. At the very least the op shouldn't
buy one just to test.

A powered hub shouldn't make any difference, I have a non powered USB
scanner which is running fine, even a webcam and now I can't even get this
stupid flash drive to work, so I have sent the second one back and the third
should arrive today hopefully and if this one doesn't work it's going back
and I'll just stick to my faithful 1GB drive (which has been back twice over
the last 3 months for (wait for it) REPAIR

Makes me think these Legend drives are not very good.

Just recieved the replacement drive today and it's still not working in my
Dell 8300 system.
I tried it in another systems running a ASUS P5S800-VM motherbaord and it
works fine,, strange
Any idea's?
