I have a Kingston Data Traveler 2GB flash drive. I plug it into my laptop
and it will work for a while then it will lock up. I get a blue screen and
can't do anything. Anyone having this problem or know what I can do to fix
it.

Does it happen with other flash drives or only this one... Can you use usb at
all with other hardware?

Have you tried to connect the usb flash drive to another computer?

Case 1: You have a usb problem with your laptop (update chipset drivers...
see manufacturers website for support) if this happen with other flash
drivers and the flash drive you have works on other computers.

Case 2: The flash stick is faulty and your laptop's usbs are ok and the
problem presents itself on other computers too.

So far the other flash drives I have tried work with no problems and the
Kingston one works great on a friends laptop (but they have XP) and on other
computers.

I don't get any messages just locks up and then goes to a blue screen. I
then have to shut it off at the switch.

See if there's any helpful information in the Event Log files. Double check
the Kingston web site to see if that drive has any known Vista issues.
