I am trying to access a previously accessible flash disk. Recently changed
MB and CPU. Device had not been used on the previous hardware
configuration, but it works on another machine. Installed all MB drivers.
Checked Intel site for updates. BIOS is from 04/06. The device shows up in
the device manager and appears as working correctly. The device appears in
disk management without a drive letter. I can manually assign a letter, but
it still is inaccessible. If I try to run format on it I get "...the
partition or volume is not enabled. To enable... restart the computer."
Needless to say if it was that simple, I wouldn't be writing. I get the
'connected' tone when I plug it in, and it appears in the system tray and
can be stopped from there. It appears as a 'mass storage device' with no
letter even though I've assigned it one. I've googled, but I"ve already
tried everything that I've found suggested.
WinXP pro
MB Intel (Springdale G i865G)
P4 2.666
384 MB DDR
My son's Ipod has also gone MIA in a similar fashion, so I'm hoping that
it's the same issue. Fix one, fix the other.
Thank you,
