I have a LEXAR USB FLASH disk that when it is installed it
does not display a drive letter. The device is present in
the device manager but there is no indication in Windows
Explorer that the drive exists. This occurs on both
Windows 2000 & XP. Has anyone seen this problem before and
if so do you have a way to fix it?
Thanks,
Al

I cannot partition or format the drive because it does not
have a drive letter assigned to it. That is the "catch
22". The device shows up in device manager as a disk but
does not show up in Windows explorer with a drive letter.
I tried using Disk Manager with the same results. What I
need to be able to do is to set the disk up with a low
level format before I can proceed to doing a partition.

I was finally able to solve this with Disk Manager. If you
select the window with the disk information listed in it
(I.E. size)you can then partition the disc.
Thanks,
AJ
