flash bios of 9700pro?

is there a way of flashing the bios on a 9700pro to change it in to a
9800 np or pro?

No. The 9800 uses a different chip from the 9700 with some new
hardware to provide additional features.

also i ve read that that earlier cards an be flash so the clock s can be
changed can this be done with a 9700pro?

The 9700(pro) never will be a 9800(pro). They are different in hardware.
The 'soft-mod' of the omega drivers, only unlock some availabilities of the
9700 that the 9800 has, but
it remains a 9700 (also in speed)
But don't bother at all, they perform almost the same.
And please try to read the older threads first, this issue has been
discussed quite some times.

If you got a 9700 pro i don't think you want to a 9800, the 9800 only uses 4
pixel pipelines, instead of the 9700 pro which uses 8 pixel pipelines.

specs I have say that the 9700 & 9800 range all have 4 vertex pipelines, 8
pixel/pixel shader pipelines & 1 texture sampler/pipeline

Although I agree, you shouldn't be able to flash a 9700 to become a 9800

Sorry, you're correct. I viewed the specs of the 9800 SE version, thats the
one which comes with 4 pixel pipelines :-S

ok thanks guys..... The reason for me asking the questions previous is cos i
ve just got my radeon 9700pro so i would nt of been reading the older
threads concerning it.

but may thanks for the advice chaps

One more thing the Bios can be flashed.... where can i get the new bios
from?
