I have an XP user that is being denied access to server
resources. The server is a W2K Small Business Server,
Everthing was fine until we physically moved the server
(coincidental?)from one office to another office, roughly
20 feet away. Nobody else is affected. Her machine
boots, she logs on, and when she tries to access any
mapped drives thru mycomputer an error message appears
stating she doesn't have access. Thru NetworkNeighborHood
she double clicks on the server icon and gets an error
about not having permissions. She was fine before we moved
the server. But yet she can get into her exchange account,
located on the same server, thru her outlook client. I
logged on as another user on her pc and everything was
OK. Also, since this began, her outlook 2002(xp)client
asks her to authenticate. She was fine before we moved
the server. I've check her permissions on these folders,
looked at her account in AD, nothing in the event
logs,...she has had the same problem for 3 days now, since
we moved the server. She comes in around 7:30am and can't
access the shares. At roughly 9:00am everything seems to
be normal as she can access the shares but she will still
get the authentication request with the outlook client.
