Flagged Status Column

I have 2 users that use rules to flag emails with important status. Currently
the Flagged status column will randomly disappear and the user has to replace
it. This would not be a big problem if it only happend in the inbox. But they
are losing the column in all of the sub folders they have created too.
Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?
 
Yes the right veiw pane and bottom view pane have been tried and the problem
happens in both.
