My Win2K Server has been badly affected by
SP4. The basic problem is that all connectivity
via IP is severly restricted. This means that
printing and browsing on the local netword, or
using the Internet isnow so bad that the system is
unusable.
With I've noticed while many sites time out and never
come up, some sites come up almost as exepcted. "Web
Site Found" happens, but incoming packets may be being
blocked.
I've read the whitepaper "Using Windows 2000 with Service
Pack 4 in a Managed Environment: Controlling
Communication with the Internet"
However, I'm not using any of the features that are
actively using the Internet, so I don't think I'm running
unknown IP traffic out. I've never had any firewalls
or virus scanning software on the machine. I can't
find any specific KB articles that suggest any adjustments
that can be made.
