fixing Internet Explorer

I recently downloaded and installed Internet Explorer seven beta two and
there were a few problems so I decided to uninstall the beta version. When I
tried to uninstall in the add/remove programs applet I received a message
stating that the beta software was not install. After a few failed attempts
I foolishly decided to attempt to remove the software on my own. Needless to
say I am now stuck with some abomination that will not launch at all. I
cannot reinstall the beta software because the computer says that Internet
Explorer seven beta two is installed. Prior to installing the beta software
I was running Internet Explorer six with service pack twoand I cannot used
system restore because all the restore points could not solve the problem. I
really hope someone can help me with this because I am a quadriplegic who
uses NaturallySpeaking Dragon to operate my computer and Internet Explorer
responds the best of all the popular Web browsers.
