Fixing a Corrupt Quark File?

I was saving a PC Quark 4.1 to an external harddrive when there was a
loss of connection with it. Everything locked up. I unplugged the
device and it unfroze. I got the usual error messages because I
unplugged the device. And now I can't get it to read the file anymore.
Quark opens, the file name appears on the title bar and then it shuts
down immediately, not opening the file at all. Other files open file.
This happens everytime I try to open this specific file, anyway I try
to open it (clicking on the icon either through Windows Explorer or off

the desktop), using the open menu, dragging the icon onto Quark...

The file still shows size, so the data is still there. Can anyone tell
me why this might be happening? And any way of fixing the file?

Thanks!
Gordon

Did you restart the pc? Was the source file open or were you just copying
the file?

Hi David,

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I tried restarting (I'm running
Windows 2000 by the way)and the source file was open. I should also
mention that I had the same problem attempting to open the same file on
a different computer (Windows XP).

You might try asking in a group specific to quark. Possibly here.
