Fixed (?) Windows defender Problem w/definitions

I downloaded the new definitions manually-listed below in error code
post-then I unchecked the windows update and the two boxes below on same page
as windows update-then I manually updated computer(click update) and it
showed 8 optional udates(None for defender) and downloaded all optional
updates-restarted computer and NO problem anymore-also recheck on just the
windows update and NOT the 2 lower boxes. So far so good.
