Hi,

I'm trying to setup a VPN whereby the client has a fixed
IP Address instead of it being assigned by DHCP. Is this
possible?

Allan.

You can configure RRAS to assign static addresses to the VPN clients instead
of them being assigned by DHCP. Once you have configured RRAS as a VPN
server,right-click on the machine name and click 'Properties'.In the IP tab
there, select 'Static Address pool' and add the pool of addresses from which
the clients should be assigned addresses. You can also select this option
while configuring using the wizard.

Thanks,
Janani

Thanks Janani. But I want 5 clients to always have the
same ip address instead of them being assigned from the
pool.

You can allocate a fixed IP per dial-in user rather than per device by
selecting the properties of the user in ADUC and under the "Dial-in" tab
check and fill in the entry for "assign a static IP address".

Hope this helps,

Ian.
