Fitting desktop to screen

Hi. im trying to fix my grandmothers dell inspiron 1100. it crashed and ive
got it running again, but the desktop doesnt fit the screen size, its too
small. it comes up as a small rectangle in the middle of the screen. Ive
tried to fix it through the display settings but the monitor is set st
default and i cant change ne thing. Plz help!

The Dell "resource" CD (blue and white I think though it might be purple and
white) will be what you're looking for. Else you can go to the Dell site,
input your model, and get the drivers for the graphics card and monitor.
After that you've installed those you'll be able to change the resolution.
