Phil Roettcher

My boss asked me to check into this and I've tried to look
through this newsgroups history files but found no answer.

His Outlook outbound email sends the first letter of every
line as a capitalized letter. He says he's changed the
defaults but it continues to occur. Is there some way to
prevent this from occuring?

TIA

My guess is...he is using Word as his email editor, and he is hitting enter
when he gets close to the right edge of the email window instead of letting
it wrap around. There is a setting in Word that will "Capitalize first
letter in sentences" that is most likely auto-correcting for him. You can
either teach him to let the text wrap around and only use the enter key at
the end of sentences, or uncheck the capitalization option in Word...
Tools/AutoCorrection Options... AutoCorrection tab...uncheck Capitalize
first letter of sentences.

Hope this helps

Also...

There is the same setting under Tools/Options/Spelling/AutoCorrect
Options...Capitalize first letter of sentences that you may want to uncheck.
In outlook 2002

Good Luck

I'll get this strait yet!

OK...open a new email, with the curser set in the body of the email message,
click "Tools/AutoCorrect Options.../AutoCorrect" uncheck the Capitalize
first letter of sentences option...This should be the only one that you need
to uncheck to prevent this from happening in new emails that he is
sending...sorry about the previous misleading posts. (they have this option
set in enough places don't they?) If for some reason this one doesn't work,
see my previous two posts...:-P

Remember to be clicked in the body of the new email message when you click
on Tools, or the AutoCorrect Options... menu won't show.

Good Luck

Actually, it will. You can even set it in Word. If "AutoCorrect
options..." doesn't show in the Tools menu, just click on the double-chevron
and it will appear.
