Firing up anomaly

When I fire up the machine, XP has a d:\programs explorer page on
screen full of DLL files. Click it and it goes away. How can I stop
this happening please?

Is EXPLORER listed in the START menu|ALL|START UP group? If so, excise it.
Is it listed under START|RUN. Type "msconfig" and click the Start Up tab?
If yes, UNcheck it.
