Hi all-

I don't get it. I am putting together a Barton mATX with Windows XP. I
bought a generic Firewire card for use with my external CDRW (it's a QPS
enclosure upgraded with a KHypermedia burner), and external HD. Both
devices work fine when I daisychain and use them with my PCMCIA Firewire
card on my Thinkpad (XP as well).

My mATX refuses to recognize the burner no mattter what I do...yet it
always sees the HD with no problem. No matter how I daisychain the cables,
I get the same result - HD yes, burner No. It can't be the devices since
they work on my Thinkpad. Any ideas?

If you can't find newer drivers for the generic firewire card, ditch it. It
might be easier to find a cheap mATX mainboard with firewire built
