Scott

I just bought a PCI firewire card and installed it on my
XP machine at home. The primary use for this card is to
use Movie Maker to import video from a sony camcorder.
When I am done with this, if I try and run another program
(games mostly) the computer either locks up or reboots. I
have tried removing the firewire cable, but still have the
same problem. I disabled the card in device manager and
this seemed to fix the problem. I thought it might be the
card, so I bought another and had the same problems with
it also. Thanks for the help.

Cari, thanks for the reply. Yes, Ive tried it in 2
different PCI slots. I have my sound card right under the
AGP slot. So I tried the 2 open PCI slots under that.
Would it help to move everything down and leave the first
PCI slot open? Also, I think I read somewhere that it
could be conflicting with the ethernet port on the
motherboard, I have an Intel D845PESV. If so is there a
way to fix this?
