A8V Deluxe

TPA0+ X X TPA0-
GND X X GND
TPB0+ X X TPB0-
+12V X X +12V
X GND

AV8 is an Abit motherboard. And both the FP-1394-1 and
FP-1394-2 headers have the same pinout as the Asus board.

Also note - if using an older Antec computer case, you should get
an ohmmeter (multimeter - try Radio Shack or another electronics store)
and verify the label on each wire corresponds to a certain pin within
the connector. The ohmmeter will read 0 ohms when you match a pin in
the connector with a wire at the other end. (The reason I mention this,
is at least one Antec case, mixed up the + and the - signals for each
data pair above. This doesn't hurt anything fortunately. If you had
some other case with a problem like that, bad things happen if the +12V
gets hooked to a data pin on your video camera. Cameras are very
expensive to repair, and a $30 multimeter to check the wiring is cheap
insurance.)

I recommend checking all front panel wiring, wherever there is a
chance of damage. Computer case manufacturers don't seem to have
electrical engineers on staff, and don't check the products they
sell. Using a connector on the back of the computer is infinitely
safer, if one is available.

Paul
