I just bought a Lexar Firewire Compactflash Reader--I have a 4pin connection
on my laptop, so had to get a 6-pin/4pin cable...it doesn't work. Can anyone
tell me why? and if it is possible to get it to work? I am a photographer,
and wanted to use it to dump images off my new 1gb compactflash cards faster
than through my pc card adapter...

it needs all the wires, 4 won't do. get a PCMCIA USB card
to add a full USB port.
