firewire card error code 10

I have recently installed a firewire card on my PC. When looking at the
device manager, I see an exclamation mark next to the device stating error
code 10 (this device cannot start). i have also tried to install the card on
different slots and it resulted in the same problem.

Can anyone help?
 
Hi Shaun,

it's a PCI card which I want to use in order to edit DV pictures - that's
what I bought it for. Does it give you enough info. or do you need to know
more?

Isn't there a cdrom disc with the drivers that need to be installed
to get Firewire operational?
 
If you have an Award bios, is the firewire card assigned an irq per the bios
summary page during bios boot process?
If so, is any other hardware using the same irq per the bios?
