Running XP-home. Connected to Broadband via ethernet
(CNET PRO200WL) on my Dell Dimension 8200 (stand alone
computer). Just installed Belkin Firewire-USB combo PCI
card F5U508(replaced 4port oem USB card). Now can't get
web access. Checked on network properties and shows both
the ethernet and the firewire card enabled and connected
but cant access anything. Disabled the firewire, still no
access. Think it might be driver conflict but am stuck.

i am having the same problem.

I posted this back on dec.10 DSL Lockup after installing
firewire.

to get your computer back working try and remove the card.
Then bootup computer and run system restore back to a
point before you installed the card. This will get you
back online but I have no resolution for the card problem
yet. Belkin is no help.

Everyone seems to be having the same problem no matter what brand of computer it is so the problem has to come back to WINDOWS XP. But the chance of microsoft fixing the problem is slim to none. Same problem on my emachines and compact with windows xp. Even tried two different firewire cards same thing happens. Shut down remove card and restore system to a day before the install. I wish someone could fix the problem. Seems like the fix is going to have to come from microsoft. Everthing else does not work!!!!!!!!

I've had firewire cards in my machines before without problems. Have you
posted an "ipconfig /all" output here?
