I am having a problem capturing video in Movie Make and Showbiz using the DV-AVI format via the IEEE-1386 (firewire) port. I have everything connected right I can even see the video that is play from my VCR and passing through the camcorder playing in the preview window of Showbiz but when I click on record I get an error message that says "no tape or invalid insert". The message also comes up in Movie Maker is "there is no tape in the Dv device" I talke to the tech at Sony and he said that I need to change the options in Movie Maker to "manually capture" but I don't see that anywhere in the program
Thanks, Val

Hi there,

I use ShowBiz v2 and I would think you could just click
on the red record button under the preview screen, if
the "skin" buttons are not working (for whatever reason).

I have an earlier version of Showbiz (V1.3.4.50)

Mine has a button labled "Capture" which then shows connected devices, my
camcorder.

My Sony camcorder requires that I go into the menus and select A/V to DV
out. (Don't have them handy).

I assume you are trying to go from a VCR thru your Sony to your computer?
Or just capture from tape in your camera?
