Anyone know how to get the FireWire port to 'start up' so it can be
used? After looking into Device manager, it shows the FireWire port
with the yellow exclamation mark and that the error is that it did not
start up.
Which drivers are you using? I have the NVidia 2.45 loaded and it
looks fine, although I have nothing to plug into it.

Anyone know the fix to this or know where else I might be able to get
some support ? I've been posting for a few days and no one answered so
I figured it's either too complex or egads, I'm being ignored..

Either way, a hint or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

The only fix I got to work, and the one I've seen most successful is to
completely disconnect the PC, unplug the motherboard connector from the PSU
for a period of at least 30 minutes, with everything still disconnected,
push the power button a few times to completely assure no residual power,
then reconnect everything and you should be good.

The reason drivers aren't the issue is the device won't even start! Sounds
crazy, but it worked for me.

To avoid sounding like a complete idiot (sometimes it can't be helped)
which drivers are you refering to? Where do I check? Under Device
Manager, IEEE1394 is shows as the WINXP drivers.. How do i check that
I have the nVidia Drivers?

Thanks!

You're right, it does sound crazy but I've seen crazier things to be
the fix than this one so I'll give it a try.. if nothing else I've
lost 30 minutes of productivity and a good chuckle =)

Thanks!

The nForce motherboard drivers loaded when the system was put
together. They would have either come from the CD that came with the
motherboard or downloaded from the net, either from ASUS or NVidia.

When mine does this I am able to get away with just a complete power
down and unplug the power cord then turn it all back on. It gets
annoying. Any ideas on what cause this?

good luck

LMAO, I think a garlic necklace, a rabbit's foot in your back pocket,
and some eye of newt might help with that procedure.
