Hi, ive asked this in the mobility group but have not recieved a reply..

Does anyone know, or have a guide to what ports are needed by a frontend
exchange 2003 server to communicate with a backend 2003 server and the
domain?

and what are people using as a firewall between the two servers?

also does anyone know of a url to show what services to dissable on the
FES ?

Thanks in advance

Pete.

Why not ask in one of the Exchange news groups instead?

FWIW - there are white papers on the Exchange web site which discuss
FE/BE scenarios and include information on the ports required.

Probably because an Exchange group would seem most appropriate...

Google the Exchange group archives, this gets discussed routinely and
there are white papers with the setup you describe available. Maybe
Exchangefaq.com or slipstick.com will have links for you.
