Firewall

When I connected, both my web browser (MS Internet Explorer 6) and my
e-mail program (Eudora 4.3.2) didn't connect and did nothing. But when
I removed my firewall (Sygate) both worked perfectly. So it leads me
to believe that the firewall was at fault. (Both functions worked well
w/ the firewall until yesterday.)

I think I need a new firewall. ZA would seem an obvious choice yet I
had trouble deinstalling it. That was about nine months ago. What
options are there?
