Do I need to have my Firewall turned on with Vista? I have heard firewalls
can cause problems receiving information and I currently have it turned off.

well, this is about mail not firewall, you would need to go to the general
newsgroup about vista, but i can answer to you only turn it off temporaly
when you have problem to see what is the problem, but all the rest of the
time, it should be turned on, otherwise you are in danger of getting
possible a worm, may be trojan. not to mention hacker's.
i heard a lot of people say that they didn't want it on because they didn't
used there system for personnal info, only for games or whatever. and most
of them replied back crying(may be a year later, may be sooner) because
there system was very slow because there computer had become infected, most
of there my docs were gone, and now they were mad cuz they had to start
re-installing there system from scratch.

your decision, but to tell you honestly at our house we have three firewall,
we have the main defence, then we have one right after that which creates a
demilitarize zone inbetween the two firewall, and i have one on my computer,
since this is a laptop and it sometimes goes on a public network which is
dangerous, because of the number of pc, and the fact that none of the
information on a public network is encrypted which means anyone can seen
what you are sending and receiving. whether it be the web site address or
your credit statement if your bank web site is not encrypted(most are
encrypted)

There is no conflict between Windows Mail and Windows Firewall,
so keep the latter turned on.
If you mean a third party firewall, all bets are off.
