Does anyone know of a free software firewall that works with Vista Beta 2,
or is the built in one sufficient?

Actually, there are two Firewalls in Windows Vista, the default protects the
user from inbound protections. If you want outbound protection capabilities,
you have use the Windows Firewall with Advance Security, located under
Control Panel > Administrative Tools.

That was kept pretty quiet, first I have heard of it. Does not look
very user friendly at a quick glance but I will try it when I have
re-installed Vista, got it all horribly wrong trying to restore a
image backup.

Wow, it looks like this thing is designed for use by the IT
department, only, and then only after attending a MS seminar. The
market for third-party firewalls should remain very good.
