My son enabled the firewall on windows XP and now my
modem is disconnected. How do I turn the firewall off?
Open the Network Connections folder, right click the connection that's
firewalled, click Properties | Advanced, and un-check the firewall
box.
But I don't think that firewalling a connection is likely to cause a
modem to disconnect, and it's dangerous to use an un-firewalled
Internet connection. For example, the Blaster worm can enter an
un-firewalled connection in an instant.
