I installed it on WinME once and it refused to allow the puter to
boot, which has to be a good thing for ME punters.

Goto 'alt.binaries.freeware'; look for
"Kerio_Personal_Firewall_2.1.5.zip"
(readme.txt enclosed).
P.S. Congratulations on leaving ZoneAlarm far behind
The excellent version of Kerio, 2.1.5, remains available at the Kerio
download site, although you won't find any link to it from their main
pages, but here is the download url, just checked and it is still there:

Kerio is indeed very good, however be aware of this:
It is still a problem in 2.1.5 that was never addressed by Kerio, and
never will be.
It lists:
"vulnerable:
Kerio Personal Firewall 2 2.1
Kerio Personal Firewall 2 2.1.1
Kerio Personal Firewall 2 2.1.2
Kerio Personal Firewall 2 2.1.3
Kerio Personal Firewall 2 2.1.4"
Are you sure v2.1.5 is vulnerable?
