youYesterday i noticed that the windows firewall was turned off and i cant
restart it ,i cant find any virus, tried to run system restore and found that
is set to the current day , any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Two possibilities:

1 ) Do you have any other security software that includes a firewall or
intrusion prevention technology ,such as Norton AV /Norton Internet Security
,McAfee ,Panda ,Kaspersky ,Zone Alarm or something like that.It can disable
Windows firewall in order to prevent software conflict because you have to
keep only one firewall always on.

or

2 ) You are infected by a malware (malicous software ) .
You need to scan with reputable solution in order to understand.

Try these:

# Panda Software free Active scan where you can check your computer for ALL
KIND of SECURITY THREATS
http://www.activescan.com

# Kaspersky free online scanner and checker for suspicious files
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

# LavaSoft's Ad-Aware SE Personal
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware

# SpyBot Search and Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/microsoft.en.html

Update and perform full scans with the programs above.

If nothing is found ,you may also check for any suspicious softwares that
shouldn't be there.
Open Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs
also
C:\Program files

I don't understand something you say about the System Restore ..."it is set
to the current day" ??? What do you mean?

Report what happened .:-)

Thanks for your help, the system restore turns off each time i start the
computer, tho i can manually start it ,but i cannot change the date to
restore to an earlier date , as the current day is the only date with a
restore point.

thank you

For a first time in my life I hear that System Restore turns off by it
self.Do you do something...

Why don't you scan with the things provided and if it doesn't work ,I advise
you create a back-up of the most important files (CD ,DVD or USB) and then
format the hard drive and install your Windows ...Something strane with the
OS is happening there.
If you need help about the re-installation of Windows ,contact a reputable
IT /computer store.

Hi Alan .What stupid things I told you ! Sorry ! Really sorry .

This type of disabling System Restore periodically is a symptom of infection
with malware. It isn't necessary to re-install the Windows.Clean your computer
from the malware.
