firewall make simple file sharing impossible (2 x xp pro)

with firewalls like kerio personal or sygate personal i cant use simple file
sharing between xp pro and xp pro. is there a way to use this firewalls and
make simple file sharing working? are there ports, that habe to be enabled?

Ports 135-139 and 445 need to be opened ON THE LAN only,
you do NOT want them exposed to the Internet.

The best thing to do is to ask on a forum for your
firewall on how to configure it properly.

Don't open any ports, since that could let other Internet users access
your network.

Configure the firewalls to allow access by computers on your local
area network. Check the firewall documentation for how to do it.

There should be an option to allow only certain IP addresses through the
firewall, either a range or just individual ones. Specify the IP address of
the computer you want to allow to access the files and you should be all
set.
 
For Kerio it couldn't be simpler:

Right-click Kerio icon in system tray
Click the Advanced button on the displayed Firewall tab
Click the Microsoft Networking tab
Click the boxes that suit your situation
If needed, create a Trusted Address Group
