Thanks!

Did anyone ascertain whether the "nakido" file was really spyware?

I believe somebody posted an e-mail he had gotten back from them saying it
was used to check for and retrieve updates.

1. Known Facts:

It is hidden into the system folder. It is slipped into startup. It is
inserted into the system as a service to be constantly running.

2. Unknown:

What does nakido transmit.

The first part, it is so offensive and sneaky, so unacceptable, that I
don't so much care, the answer to the second part. Yet, to speculate on
Firegraphic.com's motive... My highest bet is that it sends word to the
developer how many times Firegraphic progam is used.

That doesn't explain why he couldn't have just programmed such things
into the main program -- to phone home only when his program is launched.
Why he hid nakido into the system directory. And why he wants it constantly
running on all target systems.

The intent, whatever it is, might well not be tho most malignant around,
but the sneaky behavior is completely inexcusable.

I gotta admit it sounds suspicious. <shrug>

Nakido gets no English hits other that what we've discussed. Whatever it is,
it's either unique to Firegraphic, brand new, or both.
