I am having a problem with Firefox in that I installed a theme that is
totally screwed up and now I can't figure out how to change or uninstall
this theme. The drop down menus are all black so can't read them and the
toolbars are all garbled together. Where are the theme files stored so I
can delete the offending one. I have looked in the Firefox directory but
either don't know what I am looking for or looking in the wrong place.
Thanks!

I think the themes are filed as extensions in the "Profile" directory,
which isn't part of the main Firefox folder, but is instead filed in
C:\Windows\Application
Data\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles\##.default\extensions.

That won't immediately help, as the extension folders are numbered
rather than named in there, but you might find a hint as to what you're
looking for in the .txt file in that same "extensions" folder --
installed-extensions.txt.

HTH; good luck.

Open Firefox in it's "safe" mode via your Start menu. Change the theme there & uninstall the
offending one. That may fix the problem. :)

Can you can still get to "customize" by right clicking the toolbars?

If so, install the "EM Buttons" extension,

http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=465
http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/extfirefox/EMbuttons_1.0.1.xpi

which adds icons for the "Theme Manager" & "Extension Manager" to
"customize." Dragging the "Theme" icon to the toolbar grants direct
access to the Theme Manager.

You should also seriously consider a practice of backing up your profile
folder when you are satisfied with it's configuration, specifically for
situations such as this.

Then, if you experience some type of corruption with a newly added theme
or extension, all you have to do is replace the polluted profile folder
with the backup, & you're as good as new within a few seconds. Simple as
that.

Everything is fine now. Live and Learn. I wasn't seeing the application
data folder in explorer because explorer wasn't set to show certain file
types. Once I enabled that, I could see the folder and deleted the
mozilla folders from there, downloaded and re-installed and all is well
now. And yes I will make a backup of my profile folder. Thanks for the
help.
