Hi....... I'm thinking of trying Firefox and was wondering if the install
will wreck my ability to use IE. If I import
my favorites etc. will they still be available in IE?
Thanks

It works in Mozilla. Should work here. I use Mozilla for everything
except communicating with Micro$oft because they are too limited and
provincial to recognize other browsers for some things.

Don't worry, IE and its bookmarks will still be there! :)
You can make FF your default browsers and use also IE without problems.

I've run Mozila for a couple of years but do not use the email client. I am
hesitant to load Firefox if it is going to interfere with Mozila browser or
cause other problems... Can I install Firefol and run it simultaneously
with Mozila until I am sure of the transition?

As others have said, Fx install will not wreck your IE setup. But if
you like, you can use the zip file rather than the installer exe.

You can find it by drilling down from
<ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/1.0/win32/>.

They installed on different folder so I think ok. But you want them
working together...for what...

Yep, Firefox will not interfere with Mozilla or IE or anything else for
that matter. Firefox maintains a separate profile. Might as well try
it..

No.

Yes.

but they are not synchronized. That means any change on either side
after the import won't show up in the other browser.

Or is there a way to directly use (read and write) the IE Favorites
folder from within FF?

No but after using FF you'll eventualy forget all about the
"Favorites folder". I still use IE on occassion but FF as default,
so if you save in Favorites and click on a url the FF will open if
set as default. Unfortunatly you can't do the reverse due to
bookmarks not available as a separate folder.

so do I, I just wanted to point that out for the OP, so that he is not
upset if IE doesn's show the new bookmarks.

you can add a favourite to your bookmarks.html and use it that way in
IE. Not very comfortable though.
