Firefox won't run?

Just 'cleaned' a PC which was full of nasties and a couple of viruses
and the person asked me to install Firefox as IE was causing problems.
Install went fine but when i try to run it it fails to do anything! No
messages, just nothing at all. I have uninstalled and re-installed but
it's still the same.

Any ideas please?

Is FF approved to pass through your firewall?

It doesn't even start up at all! No window just nothing.

Something major is wrong. The quickest option may be a complete
uninstall. If you have stored a copy, don't use it, get a fresh copy
from Mozilla.
