Has anyone else had trouble running Firefox 9 on Windows XP? I have
no probs with 8 but 9 installs but freezes when opened.

Any ideas?

My experience: turning on 0.9 doesn't bring up a browser window.

I'm sticking with 0.8. I'll probably try 1.0 when it comes along.

No problems here, I'm afraid.

Have you searched the Mozillazine support forums? If you don't find
anything, you can repost the question over there. Your odds to get
an answer are probably higher over there...

No problems for me.
Did you first uninstalled Firefox 8?

I have seen problems which can be quickly solved by deleting your old
profile (saving your bookmarks.html file in another folder.
Alternatively, if you first start firefox with the -p switch which
invokes the profile manager, you can use that to create a new profile.
With the zip version, rather than the installer version, this problem
often happens because of the change in some of the default profile
files. The installer version (which I don't use) I think automatically
upgrades or else removes the troublesome profile files. Hope this helps
you.

I seem to recall having similar problems, only resolved by removing *all*
traces of 0.8 including any lingering profile files invoking it.

A decent search application, such as Agent Ransack, should be able to help
you there. The search facility built into XP is utterly useless.

Cheers,

Roy

Oh, god, yes!!! It's one of those things where I much prefer Win98SE
and W2K! Glad it isn't just me! <g>
