Firefox opens twice.

Recently I changed over from IE7 to Firefox,
but now whenever I use the old shortcuts on
the desktop, or urls in email messages,
Firefox opens twice to give two identical
webpages open at once.

Is there any way to stop this?

Might want to try the news server news.mozilla.org and the group
mozilla.support.firefox

Are you doubleclicking when a single click would be appropriate?

Thanks, I checked this but it still does it.
The same thing happens when I click on an
email url.
