Firslty, scrolling a document wit the mousewheel is very slow and
erratic. Tried altering every setting including in about:config

Not able to uninstall Firefox from "Programs, Installed Programs,
Change/Remove". Uninstaller starts, asks for permissions then all
dialogue boxes close. Trying again, the error message stating the
previous uninstall is running comes up.

Already filed report but anyone else got the same?

The scrolling issue is likely due to the graphics card or drivers and not
Firefox itself as I haven't experienced that issue. I have seen that problem
occur though on XP machines that had bad video drivers or old video cards that
couldn't display the page as fast as the user was scrolling.

I would agree on the scrolling issue, had the same problem on an old
machine under XP Pro and it was down to Video Card.

As to the un-install problem I've had Bon Echo running on this machine
and it un-installed without a problem, I haven't tried it with 1.5.0.4 yet.

It's wierd because the scrolling issue is just restricted to Firefox.
All other apps, including IE7 and Opera 9, scroll fine.

Not too worried as I was going off FF after all the memory issues in
1.5. Opera 9 is shaping up nicely and the only thing I miss is the
Gmail Notifier so I've got myself one from Google instead.

Just thought I'd mention it as FF is a widely used application.

Bon Echo 2.0a2, which I guess can be called the new Firefox beta, works
beautifully for us on Vista as does Thunderbird. We don't use IE 7.

Bon Echo Beta 1 should be released to developers shortly.

I use FF 1.5/1.8 with no issues at all - I have NVIDIA GeForce 6800 with
Vista beta drivers from NVIDIA

Sounds like something else may be wrong there then if it's only Firefox. Do you
have any extensions or themes installed as one of those could be the culprit.

No, this was without any installed. I then tried one of the mouse
gestures extensions which allows you to modify the scrollwheel
behaviour but it made no difference.

Not to worry. TBH, that's the only problem I've encountered so far
apart from the scanner on my Epson CX5400 being unsupported but I knew
that before installation. So all in all I'm doing quite well.

Where does FF store user profiles now? Found the one in the User/login
name folder but deleting it doesn't reset FF back as it used to doing
the same in XP.

Firefox works fine on my computer. (Although the progress bar looks ugly.)
In fact, FF opens faster on my Vista partition than it does on my XP
partition.

I installed FireFox and then IE7 stopped responding. IE7 will open, but just
hangs, favourites will open, but when selecting one will not open the web
page. Cannot manually enter web page and open. Then tried to uninstall
FireFox, get the same problem as you. Tried to set computer back to an
earlier restore point (just before the FF install) restore failed!!! Had to
restore to the point after the FF install.

Anybody have any thoughts??

I am having the same uninstall problem. Installed FF and IE7 stopped
responding. Tried to uninstall FF, will not uninstall. Tried to set Windows
back to an earlier "restore" point, that did not work as well!!! Had to reset
back to point after FF install.

I had a problem something like yours when I installed the Office Beta. Mine
came back by itself, but someone suggested I go to tools-internet
options-advanced and click on the "reset Internet Explorer Settings" on the
bottom of the window.

I just installed the Firefox 2.0 beta called Bon Echo, I think. Still
testing---.
