Yeah, for those that prefer a SDI (single document interface) browser
rather than a MDI (multiple document interface) product, or don't know
how to configure Windows XP to group taskbar buttons to provide an
equivalent tabbing function (for every program), or don't visit sites
that demand the use of ActiveX, or don't visit sites that have been
coded expressly for display within IE (which is still in far greater
usage than Firefox, Opera, and all other browsers combined), or from
idiot users claiming that Firefox doesn't have security vulnerabilities
but are too lazy to read
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/known-vulnerabilities.html
(which are mostly discovered by developers or users since it obviously
NOT the most-used browser that would come under attack from hackers -
yet), or don't care about popup and cookie control via add-ons to IE
that surpass what you can get with Firefox, or want to use BHOs are not
supported by Firefox so screw the added functionality of those products
using BHOs to integrate with your browser, or ...

However, Firefox might provide a good alternative browser, even if it is
designated your primary browser and you keep IE in reserve (if you
manage to remove IE from Windows, some programs will NOT install).
There is the option within Firefox to "View this page in IE" *if* the
extension is enabled, which is handy if the web designer only tested
their page in IE rather than see how it rendered in other browsers, or
if AX is required by the site. Be aware that should you uninstall
Firefox that its uninstall is not clean; you'll need to do some registry
and file cleanup afterward, like get rid of the FullCircle garbage left
behind.

I use both, but this constant praise of Firefox being the best and the
baddest is
akin to a "click" where everyone has to have what someone else says they
should or you won't fit in.
Firefox is a great second browser to have (just in case).

I'm on a parallel path: Firefox is my primary browser, but I use IE when I
have to ... and fortunately I seldom have to.
