Firefox bookmarks sorting

Is there any way to have the drop down bookmarks sorted alphabetically?
I tried SortBookmarks 0.6.0 but it wouldn't install. The bookmarks are
sorted correctly when viewed in the manager or sidebar but not the drop
down list from the menu. Just a minor annoyance.

Look into Extensions and download some new bookmarks manager

When in the bookmark manager drag and drop your bookmarks into your
preferred order.

Right click...select sort by name.

Bookmarks in Toolbar, pulldown menu- "Sort Bookmarks". Selecting or right-click
does nothing. How to do as you noted?

No problem, in my larger bookmark file, it just took awhile, but it sorted. If you
don't like the sorted result, Moz Backup restores the previous file.

Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks, then click on "Name"

What happened when you tried to install it? FWIW, I use Sort
Bookmarks 0.6.0 under Win98, WinXP, and GNU/Linux without any
trouble.

Bookmarks are fine in both the bookmark manager and the side bar, sorted
by name. The drop down from the main menu will not sort by name, no
matter how many times I try and un-try. SortBookmarks v0.6.0 would not
install on my Firefox v1.0 PR (NF), says it will not work with this
version or something.

What does NF stand for anyway? Have I grabbed a nightly thinking it was
the final?

Thanks to all those who replied anyway. It's no big deal and I'm sure
I'll get it sorted out (!) sooner or later.

Ahhhhh... That's the problem. You're not running 1.0.
