I am currently using Firefox as my primary browser, however, there are
few sites that I go to and they will only work with IE.
My question is, what can I do for these few sites so they will open
when I click on their desktop ICONS?
Currently I open them in Firefox and then copy and paste the URL into
IE.
Anyone have any suggestions.

Your only option would be to right-click on the shortcut | Open with |
Select IE.

You could use the FF IETab add-on, which re-opens the current page using
IE, within a FF tab. So you can use IE without leaving FF.

PABear,
Thank you for getting back to me. I thought that would be an option,
but it does not show when I right click the icon. Thank you anyway.

Windows version?

Try SHIFT+right-click | Open with...

Details? What do these icons refer to? E.g. if they are Desktop shortcuts
(*.lnk) files which explicitly refer to the Firefox executable obviously you
won't be able to use them directly with IE.

Currently I open them in Firefox and then copy and paste the URL into
IE.

Which is probably faster than doing right-click, Properties, selecting a
URL which your shortcut contains as an operand, copying that, switching
to an IE window and then pasting into the IE Address bar. ; )

Anyone have any suggestions.

Instead of going in circles, start examining at how you are moving... <eg>

Good luck

PABear,
Thanks for the help and yes you are right I did reply incorrectly and
will try to correct that inthe future.

Thank you for the help. I had completely forgotten about the add on,
and it does work great.

Robert,
Thank you for trying to help. However, cupsdell, gave me the solution
in using the FF IEtab addon.
As to your questions. The sites have to do with on line training for
the classes I teach. I made desktop icons for these sites so I don't
have to keep typing in the URL. Yes, I could have used links, but
didn't want to. Just my preference. The programs actually only work in
IE and not FF, but, with the FF addon, I can now just click on the
shortcut ICON and it opens as if I were in IE.
