So, who here has it or tried it?

I did have it installed, but i went back to FF2 for a few reasons....

I found it slower than FF2, and it would occasionally freeze for a second or two which annoyed me....
When starting it from a fresh boot/reboot it took forever to be ready to use. Granted i do have several Extentions including Stumble upon, IE Tab, Flags, Piclens etc... (Incidently Piclens is bloody fantastic, try it! http://www.piclens.com/ )
It screwed up google toolbar's spell checker! Oh noes! :p

Oh and also this site was a bit funky with it too... The forums home page was fine but the different sections and search page was squashed over to the left. I dont know why though.. :(

Will try it agian one day, and did read that making a new profile may help, but tbh, i have so much info in my current profile i'd rather not start from scratch.

I've got FF3 installed, but I only use it occasionally. I see what you mean about some PCR pages though, so I'll see if I can fix that :)

It's not frozen yet and seems to be very similar to FF2 from the sites I use it for - but as I say, I only use it for maybe 30 mins a week ;)

Ya its a bit funny about the pages here, and it dont do it in FF2, any ideas what causes it?

I may try it again but atm, i got enough to do! lol

Have it installed but keep getting the error message" the site you are trying to access uses an older SSL cet or something along those lines..I close it the reopen and am able to get on the site..It does it to the same sites day in and day out..IE7 for me

No idea TBH, I've tried editing them in dreamweaver to stop the problem - but I can only get it to disappear if I add a line of text that is longer than the page width

Every single browser changes things :wall: Oh well, keeps me on my toes :D

Don't forget, if you ain't using auto-update, to update to the "security fixed" version, wont you. ;)

oh yes, i immediately updated to 3.0.15 or whatever was the latest one, still slow!

I'm putting the fix for the site in FF3 in place now :)

I have been using FF3 since it was released. There is one big problem with the new release which is is security/phishing filter. What it does is to continue to analyse every site you visit for malware and spyware. It may be a nice addition but it makes the hard disk spin non stop which slows things down.

I did some research on it and sure enough a lot of folks have the same problem, irrespective of what operating system they use, be it W2K, XP or Vista. The solution to it is to go to Tools>Options>Exceptions and remove check marks from 2nd and 3rd options i.e. "Tell me if the site I am visiting is a suspected attack site" and the other one which says "Tell me if the site I am visiting is a suspected forgery"

I use different progams like Spyware Blaster, Spybot Search and Destroy as well as Ad-ware so I am covered so to say.;)

If you have this problem try it and see if it helps.

One of the best add-on in my opinion is All-in-one sidebar (using auto hide feature), very neat and handy tool to have, others that I found useful as well are listed below:

gui:config (You can allocate physical ram as memory cache to Firefox to speed things up with all those add-ons ;))
Colourful Tabs (eye candy)
IE Tab (ideal for sites where Firefox fails to deliver)
WOT (it tells you if the site is safe or not in Google search before you click on the link)

I've only tried a couple of FF3 plugins, so will give these a go - along with Piclens that V_R suggested :thumb:

I used FF3 for the first time today in a few days, it started to do all kinds of updates, so I just let it do its thing, after all was completed my laptop has slowed done to about the same pace as the penision line in the Post Office on Wednesday, thought it might be my connection, but that is fine, ran spybot and super anti, but niether picked up anything..Laptop is seriously slow..Think I might uninstall FF3...

Turns out the FF3 fix for the site fixed one thing and broke another... so I've removed it till I can re-think it :)

Well im back using FF3, seems OK so far.

Tried what you said Quad, seems to have done the trick. :)

Google toolbar spell checker is still fobar though. But hte inbuilt spellchecker is ok. :)

I've added the fixes back now, so FF3 should work ok on the site :)

Hey Ian, i noticed the fix still hasn't worked completely. On some pages, (user profiles, whos online, and sections index's are still squashed to the left. :)
