Every time I run the RTM version in RC2 I get the UAC prompt.

I never got it in any of the Betas of firefox 2.

I have both FF 2 and IE 7, use'm both regularly.
I don't think one is all that much better than the other.

message Personally, I don't see what the rave is about. I find IE7 to be a better
product.

It is probably good to have both available as some sites refuse to load
in one browser and not the other...

I like that FF can be set to open link (new window) pages in a new tab
(by default). With IE 7, you have to force it to do that.

In IE7 I like there is always a Tab Bar, even with one page.

FF2 has that feature too and you can set it in Tools/Options/Tabs

Strangely enough (?) I ran Spybot S&D earlier today and the only add stuff
it detected was under the 'fox.

Nothing detected under IE7 at all.

deebs,
I noticed the same thing. I think, not sure, it started when I installed FF
2.0.
I have now gone back to 1.5.0.7 and I don't get anything when I run Spybot S
& D
I have FF 2.0 on my XP drive and it behaves the same way.
I suspect it is FF 2.0

I too had the same result from S&D, but interesting enough, Ad-Aware
Personal did give me some for IE.

So I guess both are equal :)

If you run Crap Cleaner first, you won't get any results from either
Ad-Aware or Spybot. I don't think either IE or FF have an anti tracking
cookie function.

I am not sure about FF, but if I remembered correctly, I read something from
IE's site or its documents about IE will not anti cookies as many cookies
are for legitimate use.

Of course, each may have a different view about cookies, but then again,
that's how I remembered how IE said about it - again, if I remembered
correctly,.

You remember correctly. Both can be set to deny cookies but if you do
that, your web surfing will be limited.
