Nope! sorry, but I ain't going there again ...
I had this "problem" before I clean installed Suse ... now I am positive it was not a Suse specific problem but is a Firefox problem.
Here I am in 1.07 and I can "see" every letter, read everything AND in the right 'typeface' ...
Now in FF 1.5 EVERYTHING looks like a bunched up heap of caricatures AND I can only 'see' Times Roman ... well it looks like Times Roman
