I am new to Firefox 0.8. I set up 8 tabs to sites I frequently visit.
However, I cannot figure out how to save these tabs so that next time I run
Firefox these tabs will appear again. I am not of the computer generation,
so please make your reply easy to follow. Thanks. I am using Win 98, 256
megs of ram,

Click on "bookmarks" and then "manage bookmarks." From there, create a
new folder and call it whatever you like..."Elite 8" or something :).
Then, visit each site and bookmark it in that folder. Don't put
anything else in that folder. Then, simply go to bookmarks and that
folder and click on "open in tabs." If you wish for them to appear
upon *opening* Firefox, then you go into "tools" and "options" and
under "general" you need to specify your home page to be that "Elite
8" folder (under "home page" you choose "use bookmark" and select that
folder).

Thanks very much, Tiger. I went to the Firefox forums with this question,
got NO REPLY!!. That's why this group is so important to have. Thanks,
again.

Glad to help. Be sure to check out the multitude of extensions that
make Firefox great. You may need to wait a few days until they've
all been updated to work with the new release.

Thanks, Tiger. The tabs come up when I launch Firefox. Forgive me, what are
extensions? How do they work? Surfing with Firefox is so quick, no popups. I
am leaning very much to making it my main browser. The software from my ISP
installs IE6 SP1. I am using Win 98. I get so many page locks, other errors
that make IE6 restart (I am always repairing it), much slower surfing.
Firefox is a revelation!!

If you created a folder for the 8 bookmarks for the sites, you can just use
the 'Open in Tabs' command in the menu. Bookmarks --> 'folder' --> Open in
Tabs.

Thanks ncc. I am using this folder as my homepage so that these tabs load
when I launch Firefox. ( this info courtesy of Tiger)

If you go to the main Firefox site, which should be accessible from
your bookmarks menu, in the menu on the left side, you'll see
"extensions." They are little gadgets that will do a multitude of
things...I think there are over 100 of them. You can install them
directly into Firefox. Some of the common ones are tab extensions
which do a variety of things with the tabs (for example, placing a
close button on each tab so all you have to do to close that tab is
click the button.) You can get a google bar extension and one that I
like a lot is the stumbleupon extension, which adds a search bar that
will bring up sites of particular interest to you after you have
defined those interests. There are a host of others...read about
them on the extensions page.

Thank you *very* much :o)

Or middle click the folder if you have a wheelmouse.
