Can anyone tell me what this error means? It's appearing
about 20 seconds after logging in AFTER a reboot.

Firedaemon is a program which allows other programs to run as services.
That is to say, they run at start-up without any user having to log on.

It's usefull if you run say a mail server which does not natively run as a
service.

Have you ( or anyone else ) installed some program as a service using
Firedaemon?

Is there a FireDaemon Service Manager icon on the desktop?
( a grey devil-type chappie )

Go look in start | Run | services.msc
Scroll down, and see if there are any entries like
FireDaemon Service: Whatever

( probably not, if the Firedaemon Service Manager failed to load. )

I'd probably try un-installing FireDaemon, and ensuring
that the program it's trying to run works OK in itself.
THen re-install FireDaemon and set it back up as a service.
