Firebird won't load

Firebird has suddenly stopped loading webpages - I get the message that the
operation has timed out each time I click on a url. Does anyone know what
could have happened?

I got that when I installed a new version of Firebird (Firefox and
forgot to let the new program through my personal firewall). So you
could check that...

I found Firefox and its predecessors to be excellent browsers, if a
little buggy, but Thunderbird mail is not up to par yet; so I have been
trying the Mozilla 1.7a suite. To my surprise, the browser is at least
as good as Firefox, while the Mail & News component is much much better
than Thunderbird, and the whole program is remarkably stable and
bug-free for an alpha release. You might give it a try.
