First off, a search of Firebird in NGs leads only to Pontiacs.
The Mozilla NGs have several subgroups but no mention of Phoenix
or Firebird. Is the forum the only place to address Firebird qts.

My question:
NetCaptor can be set to auto-clear the cache at closing. Can
Firebird be set to auto-clear the cache?

If you have more than 128 MB of RAM just set the cache size to 0kb.

No , but you can run Mozilla Firebird without diskcache or you can put the
diskcache on a ramdisk (this can boost the speed too) or you can use the x or
xkiosk extensions found here :

http://texturizer.net/firebird/extensions.html#x
"x adds a toolbar button from which you can quickly clear privacy sensitive
data, specifically: history, form info, saved passwords, download history,
cookies, and the cache (both disk and in memory cache)"

You also open a RFE bug on the subject if one doesn't already exist and maybe
some programmer will take a look at it (in a couple of months/years)

You can find specific Mozilla Firebird forums on Mozillazine.org - the best IMO
newssite for Mozilla-related subjects.

Whoa! I should have mentioned that you can limit the memory cache by
adding this to your user.js:

// Specify the amount of memory cache in kilobytes:
user_pref("browser.cache.memory.capacity", 352768);

That will prevent you from using up all of your memory. O_o

I d/l Firebird 0.6.1 about a month ago and installed it yesterday. The link
they give on the default user is http://forums.mozillazine.org/index.php?c=4
for newsgroups; I don't believe it's a NG like this but rather a forum on
the net. Not sure if you have to sign up to participate.

If you look towards the top of firebird there is also a user support forum
button that will take you to a forum on firebird. Click on that and go
question crazy.
