I'm having DSL installed on my PC this week. How do I disable them or it? Where do I go to find them to disable the fire walls on mu computer. Thank You very much.
And a firewall is even more important on DSL (or cable)
because you are on 24/7 so it is more certain that you will
be found and hacked.
| You do not want to disable your firewall. The firewall
| keeps you protected from things such as the Blaster worm
| and its variants.

I disabled my WinXP firewall only in order to install ZoneAlarm. With
a cable modem, I'm still not comfortable, but I can't get my D-Link
DI-604 router to connect.
Has anyone out there set up this router with Cox Cable and XP?
You definitely shouldn't run an always-on broadband connection without
_some_ kind of digital condom, even if it's the minimal one supplied
with XP.
Disabling your firewall is a very foolish thing to do. However,
until you tell us what specific firewall you're using, we can't tell
you how to "turn it off," other than to read the documentation that
came with it.
