Fire wall problem

hi;
Im having a problem with my windows fire wall. Its turned off and comes up
with the bubble saying turn on here so I click on it and it opens up secretiy
center on the firewall. I click recomedations to turn on the frire wall but
it say I have to go to control panel and turn it on.
So I go to control panel and click firewall and it tell me that "Due to an
unidetified problem windows is unalble to open windows fie wall settings"

How can I fix this so I can turn my fire wall back on????

I had that exact problem once and I actually had a virus and had been
hijacked.Once the hijackers dropped the fire wall all hell broke lose so make
sure your virus and spyware free. Also make sure your settings for search
page, home page etc is correct . I just hope its not the same thing that
happened to me good luck mc
